Inglewood, CA Development

Inglewood is being sieged by development that will add thousands of new residential units in addition to acres of additional development. This development will fundamentally change the skyline and demographics of one of the last Black areas in the metro Los Angeles area. Eminent Domain is a real risk, especially given how low the property values are in light of all of the future expected profits and the enormous size of these developments. As in Downtown Los Angeles, this development is centered around a sports stadium and follows metro lines. The new “Inglewood Live”, as I call it. The incredibly depressed property values suggest relocation and exploitation by the NFL/NBA, large developers and the general public/new urbanites hoping to cash in on the renewal market. Inglewood neither should be nor deserves to be so lowly valued. Black communities are neither here for reserve cheap housing nor here as the new “hot area” for people to try to  make money in the real estate market.  See posts on Inglewood, CA: Giving Credit Where Credit Is Due In Inglewood; Inglewood Is A Great City On Its Own.  This is not a complete list.
